Correct Care Solutions Director of Compliance and Accreditation in Nashville, Tennessee

Overview

Our Director of Compliance and Accrediation will have knowledge and expertise in the development and management of correctional health care programs. They are responsible for providing consultation, evaluation and education on Wellpath correctional health care policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with national correctional health care standards. These services will be provided to Wellpath regional and site leadership as well as Wellpath clients, as required. The Director will also assist regional and site leadership with the contract implementation process as requested. Our Director's role in the contract implementation process may vary based on the specific needs of the implementation process. Our Directors are also tasked with the professional development of Wellpath site leadership; specifically individuals in the Health Services Administrators and Directors of Nursing roles. Our Director's role is to ensure that onsite leadership is given the tools, education and support necessary to be successful.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Experience:

  • JC - Joint Commission accreditation experience is required.

  • CARF - Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in correctional health care and familiarity with national accreditation, programmatic accreditation, and state licensure preferred.

  • 5+ years of managerial experience as a Health Services Administrator or Director of Nursing.

  • Strong problem solving and project management experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.

  • Proven Leadership

  • 50% travel throughout the country

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP)

Responsibilities

  1. Understand, demonstrate and promote the principles of Wellpath's mission and values.

  2. Assist with the development of short and long term strategies and a corresponding execution plan.

  3. Lead efforts to manage current programs and develop new programs as needed to ensure sites are successful in their accreditations.

  4. Interfaces with various subject-matter experts to develop tools for accreditation and compliance.

  5. Develop and implement strategies to meet accreditation standards and activities applicable to all Jails and Prison Systems in accordance with the national, federal, state and local regulations.

  6. Responsible for performing audits and system reviews of accredited and non-accredited sites to ensure site adheres to required national, federal, state and local regulations and Wellpath policy and procedures.

  7. Coordinate training on accreditation issues and compliance with applicable departments, and home office staff.

  8. Oversee and direct accreditations and other related documents for the necessary approvals for start-up activities, annual renewals, new compliance programs, and reaffirmations.

  9. Review and edit appropriate tools and documents in accordance with national, federal, state and local regulations to ensure these tools remain up-to-date.

  10. Implements at the operational level, including Tracks and maintains annual inspection schedules; ensures response deadlines are met; maintains binders; Tracks and maintains necessary report requirement system; schedules and organizes training sessions; prepares documents; updates and maintains shared drive documents;

  11. Identify and report potential compliance issues or concerns in regards to national, federal, state and local regulations and assists sites with developing, implementing and monitoring action plans

  12. Participates in the contract implementation process as assigned

  13. Assists with the development and implementation of site specific policy and procedures

  14. Assists with the onboarding and professional development of Health Services Administrators and Directors of Nursing

  15. Serves as a consult on Wellpath programs related to accreditation; Continuous Quality Improvement; and Safety Training.

  16. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.

  17. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.

  18. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.

  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
