Correct Care Solutions Women's Health Nurse Practitioner - Dublin CA in Dublin, California


Under direct supervision and direction of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher licensed medical professional, Director of Women’s Health is responsible for the overall success and supervision of the departments healthcare services and medical procedures related to Woman's Health and Family Planning. The Director of Women’s Health delivers a range of acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare services in daily coordination of health care and facility staff in compliance with all current and applicable regulations and laws.


Education for N urse Practitioner :

• Doctorate or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university

Experience for N urse Practitioner :

• Previous correctional/detention facility experience

Licenses/Certifications for N urse Practitioner :

• Unrestricted current nursing license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.

• Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and ACLS certification through AHA


  1. Obtaining a relevant health history, including a comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic history, with emphasis on gender-based differences

  2. Performing a complete, system, or symptom-directed physical examinations on women, including obstetric and gynecologic conditions/needs that include, but are not limited to: pregnancy, benign and malignant gynecologic conditions, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections, perimenopause/menopause/post-menopause and other gender-specific illnesses

  3. Assessing, diagnosing, and treating for maternal and fetal well-being, high-risk pregnancies, depression, and pregnancy/postpartum complications

  4. Assessing, diagnosing, and treating disease risk factors specific to women

  5. Distinguishing female gender differences in presentation and progression of health problems and responses to pharmacological agents and other therapies

  6. Assessing social and physical environmental health risks, including teratogens, which impact childbearing

  7. Assessing for evidence of intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and substance abuse

  8. Assessing, diagnosing, and treating issues related to sexuality

  9. Assessing parental behavior and skills and promotes smooth transition to role changes

  10. Assessing, diagnosing, and treating selected reproductive health needs or problems in male partners, such as sexually transmitted infections, contraception, and infertility

  11. Assessing genetic risks and refers, as needed, for testing and counseling

  12. Timely and legible documentation in medical records and in appropriate format

  13. Collaborating with other health care providers for management or referral of high-risk pregnancies

  14. Performing primary care procedures, including, but not limited to: pap smears and microscopy

  15. Providing management and education for women and men in need of family planning

  16. May assist in the job shadow portion of the interview process of potential staff

  17. May assist for orientation and training of new employees

  18. Responsible for the performance evaluations and successful training of direct reports

  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
