How you make a difference
Are you a skilled Medical Director looking for a flexible opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Look no further – we're seeking a dynamic Medical Director to join our team on a part-time basis (20-25 hours per week)!
The Medical Director is a key figure in managing and overseeing the medical services provided to residents in a facility. Theyare responsible fora range of duties, including directing and assessing medical services,planningandmonitoringmedical staff, and ensuring that all residents receive quality medical care. As the primary care physician for all residents, they alsoprovideconsultations and referrals to and from other medical staff as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents. Overall, the Medical Director plays a critical role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of residents in a facility.
Key Responsibilities
Oversees and directs medical, psychiatric, dental, and laboratory functions at the facility, ensuring compliance with National Treatment Guidelines.
Providesmedical care to residents, including minor surgical procedures and ongoing evaluations and treatment planning.
Reviews and evaluates facility-specific medical policies and procedures for compliance withNationalCommission on Correctional Health Care standards.
Designatescontinuing care facilities and specialtyphysicians andparticipatesinutilizationmanagement initiatives.
Providesindividualized care and treatment to patients, considering their age and developmental needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Board certified or eligible in internalor family medicine.
Experience
Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Director in an acute inpatient setting.
Four (4) years post residency clinical experience in an acute inpatient setting, psychiatric and correctional health experience preferred.
Skilled in organization, supervision, andstate-of-the-arttreatment interventions.
High degree of empathetic listening,tactand kindness toward others.
Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
Licenses/Certifications
Must have andmaintaina current and in good standing license with the State of South Carolina.
Must also have andmaintaina DEA and DPS certificate of registration.
