How you make a difference
The Accountant, under the general supervision of the Business Manager, is responsible for entry level accounting activities relating to general accounting and/or the resultant managerial reports and/or financial statements. Duties require familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), budgets, policies, procedures and practices of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares reports for financial analysis and/or results analysis to ensure transactions in the ledger tie to statistical files and/or various reports. Assists in analyzing financial data to identify problem areas and/or report to management.
Prepares Excel spreadsheets, analyzes and reviews complex transactions and financial data, creates general ledger journal entries of various accounts and ensures that entries are entered into the accounting system.
Maintains offsite medical reserves Excel spreadsheets and prepares the related monthly journal entry.
Responsible for processing and entering residents trust account deposits into the banking system
Assists coworkers in the preparation and/or review of daily activities as well as entries made to various systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree with 24 semester hours in accounting (required)
Experience
- 1-2 years accounting experience in General Ledger, Journal Entries, Bank Account Reconciliations (required)
