How you make a difference

The Accountant, under the general supervision of the Business Manager, is responsible for entry level accounting activities relating to general accounting and/or the resultant managerial reports and/or financial statements. Duties require familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), budgets, policies, procedures and practices of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares reports for financial analysis and/or results analysis to ensure transactions in the ledger tie to statistical files and/or various reports. Assists in analyzing financial data to identify problem areas and/or report to management.

  • Prepares Excel spreadsheets, analyzes and reviews complex transactions and financial data, creates general ledger journal entries of various accounts and ensures that entries are entered into the accounting system.

  • Maintains offsite medical reserves Excel spreadsheets and prepares the related monthly journal entry.

  • Responsible for processing and entering residents trust account deposits into the banking system

  • Assists coworkers in the preparation and/or review of daily activities as well as entries made to various systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree with 24 semester hours in accounting (required)

Experience

  • 1-2 years accounting experience in General Ledger, Journal Entries, Bank Account Reconciliations (required)
