How you make a difference

This Pharmacist position involves overseeing all pharmaceutical and consulting tasks required by a facility, including creating policies and ensuring adherence to them. The job includes dispensing medication, requisitioning pharmaceuticals, and contributing to the planning, coordination, and implementation of pharmacy programs and operations. Additionally, this role includes supervising the work of part-time pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as the Pharmacist in Charge and oversees all pharmacy operations, including dispensing medications, inspecting pharmaceutical supplies, andmaintaininginventory.

  • Providespharmaceutical information to physicians, interns, and nurses and prepares reports on department progress and improvement initiatives.

  • Maintains confidential records,complies withall regulatory requirements, and serves as the Consultant Pharmacist of record for the facility.

  • Reviews charts for discrepancies and implements drug protocols and formulary to reduce facility costs.

  • May require rotating 24/7/365 after-hour call and reports to P&T, Governing Council, and Performance Improvement Committees.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Experience

  • Minimum One (1) year experience working as a Pharmacist. Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This includes strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must be licensed as a Pharmacist by the state in which work is performed. Consultant Pharmacy license required (Florida).
